Review: My Shapely New Speedo!
I was at the gym yesterday, trying out a fab new swimsuit I was sent from Simply Swim, and I realised how important a good swimsuit actually is.
Think about it- it is just one small piece of fabric covering up the essentials, and if it sags or is seethrough- the whole world ends up seeing everything you were blessed with! I’m a fashion lover, but I’m also a serious gym goer and when I hit the pool I do lengths- not just pansying about in the shallow end, chatting then sitting in the hot tub, but actually front crawl, breast-stroke, backwards crawl, length after length for 30 minutes, never stopping.
A fashion swimsuit that you can get from any High Street store will suffice for a sunlounger on holiday, but won’t be up to the job for serious swimming, as I don’t want to be adjusting bikini briefs and stopping tops from flapping up in the water when I’m on a mission! So I was delighted with the Speedo swimsuit I tried from Simply Swim. They are an online family swim store with plenty of choice for the fashion conscious swimmer. I tried the Speedo Water Gem one piece suit in Blackcurrant and it was really attractive. It had a simple design but extremely flattering on the body. Here is a picture of it.
It is from Simply Swim’s ‘Bodyshaper’ range, so it felt good on. I like how when you get a special ‘shapewear’ garment that it hugs you all over so you feel secure in it, knowing that nothing can ‘pop out’! It had a low cut leg so you are covered all over the bottom area and had tummy control to hold you in too. The bust area has support so you are lifted and gently shaped whilst in the costume, so that overall you get a really flattering fit and are well covered up.
As I’m in the pool at least twice a week, I like the fact that the material is chlorine resistant, as I’ve had so many costumes ruined before their time by chlorine, even though I always rinse out the swimsuit after use. Anything that helps prolong a swimsuit’s life is welcome, and at a price of £32, I found this piece excellent value for money too.
I’m currently losing weight so my existing swimming costume was starting to get a little ‘big’, which means that this suit with its nice, firm fit was a welcome addition to my gym kit!
I want to thank Simply Swim for sending me a free swimsuit for the purpose of this review and can promise that it will get a lot of use as I get to my target weight!
