Wahanda is an online listings site for all things spa, health and wellbeing related so when they asked me to review spa days in Leeds, I jumped at the chance!

My nearest spa that was featured on their website was the Thorpe Park Hotel and Spa in Leeds, so I went off last Sunday for their Sunday Afternoon Tea Package.

Even though this hotel is nearby I have never visited before and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. I knew the hotel was located on a business park, so I kind of expected a kind of ‘Premier Inn’ type ‘no frills’ set up, but even though it was a purpose built hotel, it had plenty of character features that made the hotel a nice environment to be in. Whilst I was there, a wedding was going on too which shows how nice it was, and I was able to nosey at the bride’s dress from my vantage point in the hot tub!

Here I am having arrived at the spa and getting my robe:

After this, the camera phone was left behind as I had my relaxing facial treatment. It was heavenly. I also got time to read my book and several magazines that I borrowed from the spa- such was the peace and quiet I was enjoying! After a couple of hours I went off for the ‘afternoon tea’ part of the day. I think they were expecting two people as they brought me all this out to eat!

The scone with whipped cream was to die for and yes, I did eat both pieces! I couldn’t manage all the cake though…

The pool was nice and big, and there were plenty of relaxation beds around it and on the outside terrace too. I was able to sit out for an hour with my book so it felt a bit like being on holiday, despite the weather we are currently having in August!

I went alone but there was a mother & daughter having some quality time there last week and also a group of 5 women friends there to catch up. I would like to go back with a friend or my mum at some stage- maybe in the next school holidays when I need another day off!

The package I had was £49 and is called the ‘Sunday Siesta’ package. Thank you to Wahanda who allowed me to try it for free for the purpose of this review.
